Niagara Murders Down, Road Fatalities Up

Murders were down last year but the number of people dying in car crashes was up.

Those details were outlined in the NRPS annual report.

Officers investigated nine murders last year, down 44% from 2024.

More than 1,800 victims and survivors of crime were connected to other support agencies, up 56 per cent from 2024.

Deaths from motor vehicle crashes saw a 56 per cent increase with 36 fatalities.

Officers responded to just over 148,000 calls, up two percent from the year before.
