Waste Reduction Week activities taking place next week.
Several environmentally themed activities are taking place next week as part of Waste Reduction Waste.
From Monday, October 17th - Friday, October 21st, there will waste management information booths set up at the MacBain Community Centre and Grimsby Public Library.
There will also be a reusable goods drop off depot contest next week.
From Monday to Saturday, residents can bring reusable items to the Niagara Road 12 or Humberstone Reusable Goods Drop-off depot for a chance to win a $50 Visa gift card.
The Niagara Region also offers the following tips to help you reduce waste:
- Choose products with less plastic packaging
- Bring a reusable bottle, cup or cutlery with you when you go out
- Avoid food waste by planning and purchasing only what is on your shopping list
- Buy second-hand items and donate used goods
- Buy in bulk to reduce packaging
