The Niagara Region telling us its 6-water treatment plants just earned a perfect score, that's 100% rating, from the Ministry of the Environment, after inspections for the 2025-2026 period.
The provincial government does both scheduled and unannounced inspections each year.
In addition to water quality, inspections are done on reporting practices, record keeping and staff certification and training.
The region adds each day roughly 160-million litres of water is treated and delivered for drinking, from 6-water plants, 11 wastewater plants, and over 100 pumping stations.
