The SIU will not be charging a local police officer following an arrest in St. Catharines.
The NRP responded to an assault at the Tim Hortons on Welland Ave in late December.
They arrested a 32-year-old man and the man allegedly tried to hurt one of the officers shortly after he was released.
Police had to ground the man and he was diagnosed with a broken ankle in hospital afterwards.
