Officers investigating report of escaped white wolf near Main Street West and Cement Road in Port Colborne.
Niagara Regional Police are asking Port Colborne residents to keep an eye out for a white wolf.
Constable Phil Gavin tells us around 11:00 a.m. this morning, police received a report of an escaped wolf near Main Street West and Cement Road.
The wolf had been rescued from a northern part of Ontario and was residing in western Port Colborne.
The adult female wolf named "Boo" dug out of her enclosure around 9:00 a.m. this morning, and its current whereabouts are unknown.
Nearby residents are asked to be cautious of their personal safety and that of their pets.
Anyone who may have spotted the animal is asked to call the Niagara SPCA at 905-735-1552 extension 3 or the NRP at 905-688-4111.
