51 year old Port Colborne man being held for bail hearing
A 51 year old Port Colborne man is facing charges after police investigated an unlawful possession of a firearm.
Police searched a garage in the area of Steele and Helen Streets that had been modified into a living area.
They located a loaded double barrel sawed off shotgun and ammunition at the scene.
A further search of the suspect located a prohibited switchblade knife tied to his belt.
Shane Andrew Thomson faces numerous charges including authorized possession of a prohibited firearm and careless storage of a firearm.
Thomson was being held in custody for a bail hearing.
