Police say victim got trapped under the boat after it flipped
One person is dead after a Lockport Cave & Underground tour boat capsized.
Lockport Police say the incident occurred around 11:30 this morning.
There were 28 tourists and a staff member on board when the boat flipped.
The tourists were from a Destination Niagara USA tour, and the ride takes visitors underground.
Investigators say they believe the person who died had gotten trapped under the boat.
The victim's name has not been released, but police say the man was around 60 years old.
Eleven people were taken to hospital with minor injuries, and 16 were rescued by first responders.
The cause is still under investigation.
