Candidates have until September 5th to register
The Ontario Liberal Party has announced plans to hold a series of debates as it looks to choose its next leader.
The party says the debates will take place on September 14 in Thunder Bay, Oct. 1 in Stratford, Oct. 24 in Toronto, Nov. 8 in Ottawa and either Nov. 18 or 19 in Brampton.
Candidates interested in running have until September 5th to register.
At the moment, there are five contenders: Liberal MP Nate Erskine-Smith, Mississauga Mayor Bonnie Crombie, Liberal MP Yasir Naqvi and MPPs Ted Hsu and Adil Shamji.
Last year, former leader Steven Del Duca stepped down after the provincial election.
During the last two elections, the party didn't have enough seats to get official party status in the legislature.
Party members will cast ballots the weekend of November 25th, and the winner will be revealed on December 2nd.
