The province has released the latest COVID-19 modelling.
Doctor Adalstein Brown warns that the UK COVID-19 variant could be the dominant virus strain in Ontario.
Brown also says that the province is in better shape than it was in two weeks ago and he doesn't think schools need to stay closed in order to reduce the transmission of the virus.
The modelling also shows that if the virus consistently drops by about three to five percent, the province could be below 200 beds by the end of February.
While case and positivity rates are down across public health units, testing numbers are also down.
