Ontario is recording the highest daily total of the summer with 340 new cases of COVID-19 confirmed this morning.
ONTARIO - The Province of Ontario has confirmed 340 new cases of COVID-19 this morning, bringing the total number of cases in the Province to 551,678.
Due to a data clean-up, 16 of the 18 deaths being reported today occurred more than 6 weeks ago and the total the deaths now sits at 9,392. Another 149 cases have been labelled resolved, bringing the total number of resolved cases to 540,407.
The province completed nearly 23,448 tests yesterday. We currently have 114 COVID-19 patients in the hospital with 80 people in the ICU and 56 in the ICU on a ventilator. Over half of the cases are coming from hot spot regions with 80 new cases in Toronto, 41 in York Region, 36 in York Region, 23 in Windsor-Essex and 22 in the Region of Waterloo.
