Save the pussy willow branches for another day
First it was Buffalo’s two St. Paddy's Day Parades that fell victim to the pandemic and now its Dyngus Day celebrations.
Erie County Executive Mark Poloncarz has added the annual Dyngus Day parade to the list of spring events that won’t happen this year because of the coronavirus.
Smigus-dyngus is a Catholic celebration held on Easter Monday.
On the official Buffalo Dyngus Day website, it's described as a day when thousands head to Buffalo to celebrate spring, show Polish pride, flirt with pussy willows and listen to the best polka bands in the nation.
