Council praised the work of snow plowing crews, saying they're the best in the province
Pelham town council heaping lots of praise on snow plow drivers who they say have done a great job this winter.
It was noted some of these drivers worked every day, but still maintained legally required time off.
Councillor Kevin Ker added problem areas got immediate attention. "Unsafe road conditions for anyone, when you suddenly hear that a roadway is down to a single lane, blowing snow, whiteout conditions, and the response by the staff was incredible, even to the point of saving a school bus that was stuck."
It was noted many drivers were out at 4 in the morning.
Councillor Brian Eckhart says workers in Pelham are the best in Niagara, in fact, the whole province.
Councillor Shellee Niznik pointed to a great job on her road. "By Monday afternoon, I was going up to Highway 20 to where my mom lives, and I drove the backways through the subdivisions, just to have an eye since I'm a councillor, try to stay in the loop... even most of the cul de sacs were even done."
Mayor Marvin Junkin applauded the work in his road, but joked they didn't do his driveway.
