Organization says pyrotechnics cause stress to pets, wildlife and vulnerable people.
PETA is once again urging Niagara Falls Tourism to get rid of its nightly fireworks shows.
The organization has paid for three billboards to be put up in the city, to remind the public that pyrotechnics terrify wildlife, household pets and vulnerable humans, including people with post-traumatic stress disorder.
Two billboards are located at 5685 Falls Avenue, and another one is near the intersection of Stanley Avenue and Main Street.
Officials say the locations were chosen due to the proximity to the offices of Niagara Falls Tourism as well as Queen Victoria Park and Oakes Garden Theatre - common places for people to watch the displays.
This comes after PETA sent a letter to Niagara Falls Tourism, encouraging them to consider a laser or drone show instead of nightly fireworks.
The fireworks over the falls show is scheduled to run every night until October.
