In response to growing community demand, 8 new pickleball courts, a playground and other improvements are open at Burgoyne Woods.
The City's Landscape Architectural Planner Morgan McAvoy says pickleball is the world's fastest growing sport, and in St. Catharines.
The courts are to the west of the park's lower parking lot.
Other park improvements include a shade structure, bicycle racks, benches, picnic tables, and better paved pathways, parking lot and drainage.
The city is also working on other park renewals at Charles Ansell, enhancements to the George Taylor stadium, as well as Alex McKenzie, Berkley, Bartlett and Lakeview parks.
