Police are out with a warning after four reports of people losing money in a rental scam.
Niagara Regional Police say it involves a home under construction in Welland, that has been fraudulently rented out to several potential renters.
Police say the home was posted through a Kijiji ad and tour were held by someone hired by the scammers.
Renters are reminded to check online reviews for the renter, or rental company, and to never pay in cash or wire transfer.
Make sure to do your homework before signing anything, or handing over money.
Any other possible victims are asked to call police.
