Town council did not like new look, or the slogan introduced by consultant
An attempt to create a new logo and slogan for Grimsby by a consulting firm has been turned down by council.
Scott Thornley and Company came up with an artistic "G", but most councillors didn't like it, and felt the "Like no Other" logo was vague.
Councillor Nick Di Flavio applauded the work behind it, but didn't like the shapes in it. "I'm impressed that you were able to unit people across the spectrum in Grimsby. Unfortunately it was united against this logo, and I've received nothing but negative people who've seen it over the last 3-days."
Councillor Don Howe liked it, saying art is in perception. "Similar to walking into an art gallery, and you're looking at something, and you ask the artist what you're looking at... and then it comes together."
The other councillors were sympathetic to the consultants, and voted they try again.
