Province Investing Over $1.4 Million for Local Non-Profits

Seventeen local charities to benefit

Seventeen charities in Niagara are getting some help from the province.

Niagara West MPP Sam Oosterhoff says the province is investing over $1.4 million to the organizations through the Ontario Trillium Foundation.

Grant recipients include the following organizations:

Civiconnect and Community Care of West Niagara in Lincoln Town of Pelham and Horse Cents for Kids in Pelham
Hospice Niagara
YWCA Niagara Region
Big Brothers Big Sisters of North and West Niagara Community Care of St. Catharines and Thorold
Community Support Services of Niagara
The Kristen French Child Advocacy Centre Niagara
The Niagara Cricket Club
Positive Living Niagara and Southridge Shelter in St. Catharines
Heartland Forest
Project SHARE and the GROW Community Food Literacy Centre in Niagara Falls
The Thorold Community Activities Group in Thorold
Branch 230 of the Royal Canadian Legion in Fort Erie

"Non-profit organizations are a crucial and valued part of any community, especially here in Niagara West," said MPP Oosterhoff.

"Countless people rely on their services every day - this funding will help local non-profits continue supporting those who need it most."

The funds will be used to improve existing facilities and improve access to programs and services.
