Jim Bradley was admitted to hospital this weekend with a respiratory illness.
His chief of staff says he's expected to return to work in the coming days.
The 77 year old was voted in for another term as Chair last month as the province passed Bill 39.
The bill gave the province the ability to appoint regional chairs in Niagara, Peel and York regions.
