At one point, the man attempted to grab the caller's young child, the caller intervened, and the man grabbed the caller.
Police add the man later returned, spoke to other kids, at which point police were called, arresting 78-year old Carmelito Mariano of St. Catharines for assault.
He has a bail hearing today.
Police say he is Filipino, wiith a dark, tanned complexion, wearing a long sleeve dark navy shirt, shorts, and baseball hat, and may have spoken with kids at other parks and schools.
