Police say vehicle hit a pole after 2-vehicle collision in the Prince Charles Drive area yesterday
Tragedy in Welland with the death of an 81-year old woman in a car crash.
Niagara regional police were called to the Prince Charles Drive and Fitch Street area at the noon hour yesterday, concerning a two vehicle collision.
They found the driver of a Chevy Trax tried to make a right hand turn on Prince Charles Drive when a Chevy Silverado, driven by a 55-year old man, collided with it.
The Trax then hit a pole.
Police say the 83-year old man driving the Trax suffered non-life threatening injuries, but his 81-year old passenger died at the scene.
The other driver suffered minor injuries.
The road has been re-opened.
