Niagara Regional Police responded to the Central Avenue QEW Overpass for a report of a person in distress.
Officers got there just before 11:00 a.m. on Saturday.
Shortly after police arrived, the 28-year-old man fell from the bridge and was taken to an out-of-town hospital with serious but non life threatening injuries.
The Special Investigation Unit has started an investigation into the situation.
