The OPP have charged 11 people with 34 offences, shut down six illegal cannabis stores, and seized $1 million in illegal cannabis and tobacco in the Niagara area.
Indige Smoke locations in St. Catharines, Welland, Fort Erie and Thorold, have been closed as they were allegedly operating without a proper authorization from the Alcohol and Gaming Commission of Ontario.
As a result of the search warrants, more than $640,000 in illegal cannabis and illegal cannabis products, more than $350,000 in contraband tobacco, about $29,000 in Canadian currency, three handguns, one shotgun, ammunition, two ounces of suspected cocaine, digital scales, computers, cellphones and video surveillance systems were allegedly seized.
