A huge investment for a Smithville pet food plant, with help from the provincial government.
The province says Big Country Raw is spending $8.9-million on a new 29,000 square foot facility, as well as new equipment and product safety.
Niagara West MPP Sam Oosterhoff says this will create 16 new jobs, along with the help of a provincial loan of over $1.3-million.
Rob Brouwer is the co-founder and President of Big Country Raw, which specializes in frozen raw pet food, and says this will enhance cold chain distribution, advanced automation, and raise food safety standards.
