Pilot project extended
The government announcing it will keep the 110 km/h speed limit on the 30 k stretch of the highway from Stoney Creek to St. Catharines for another two years.
Provincial officials say so far the measure has helped to reduce the number of crashes on that stretch of the highway.
The 10 km/h increase was first put in place in September of 2019 and has already been extended once before.
No word when or if the province plans to extend the speed limit to include all of the QEW.
