One person suffered minor injuries.
A man has been charged with assault following an incident in St. Catharines.
Around 3:30 p.m. yesterday, police responded to a report of an assault at a home near Chestnut Lane and Merritt Street in St. Catharines.
Upon arrival, police discovered a male suspect was inside the house, and there were concerns he had a weapon.
The man refused to leave the house, and members of the Emergency Task Unit, Canine Unit, and Crisis Negotiators were called in.
Investigators say one person suffered minor injuries, but no medical attention was required.
Around 6:00 p.m., an arrest was made when the suspect left the residence.
Facing charges is 52-year-old Steve Haughton.
He was released on a Form 10 Undertaking, and will appear in court on January 27th, 2023.
