Gold medalist Kristen Kit presented with Key to the City of St. Catharines.
Olympic gold medalist Kristen Kit has been given the Key to the City by St. Catharines Mayor Walter Sendzik.
Kit was the coxswain for the women's eight rowing team during last summer's Olympics in Tokyo.
"The Key to the City is presented to individuals whose contributions in their career reflect positively on our hometown," said Mayor Sendzik. "We are so proud of Kristen’s success and we know that she will continue to make our community proud."
She was also recently recognized as co-recipient of the 2021 St. Catharines Athlete of the Year Award, alongside long distance runner Mohammed Ahmed.
He won the silver for Canada at the 2021 Olympics in Tokyo.
