Unions demanding Ford address labour issues in the healthcare field.
Unions representing over 70,000 of the province's hospital workers are urging the province to address staffing shortages.
The Ontario Council of Hospital Unions and SEIU Healthcare have written a letter to Premier Doug Ford, recommending a number of actions to reduce labour shortages in the health care sector.
The groups are calling on the province to repeal Bill 124, which caps wage bumps in the public sector to one percent a year.
The unions are also asking the province to create an aggressive plan to lure back health care staff not currently practicing.
An open letter has also been sent to the Ontario Hospital Association, asking it to help fill vacancies and improve transparency in regards to the crisis.
