NRP say it happened early this morning, charging a 25-year old woman of no fixed address
Police showing up to an area near the Welland bus terminal on East Main Street early this morning.
When they got there around 4:30, they learned a 45-year old woman had been hit in the head with a blunt object.
She was taken to an out-of-region hospital for assessment, and later released.
Police add they found the suspect near the terminal and arrested her.
25-year old Brittany Taylor Thomas-Thompson of no fixed address is charged with assault causing bodily harm.
Police are asking if anyone has video surveillance, to call them.
