Possible Pay Hike for Niagara's Regional Councillors

Niagara's Regional Councillors could be getting a raise in the near future.

The Region's Corporate Services committee has approved a 2.9 percent pay hike.

If council gives the green light, it would boost their salaries to $38,400 from $32,900.

The pay hike is supposed to offset new tax changes. One third of their income can no longer be non-taxable.
