The province is pitching in money, in order to expand Niagara's home and community care services.

Niagara West MPP Sam Oosterhoff has announced almost $3-million in combined funding for two new integrated care programs.

The Niagara@Home Integrated Care Program is a partnership between Niagara Health and St. Elizabeth Health Care.

Niagara Health will also play a role in the High Intensity Rehab Outreach program at Hotel Dieu Shaver.

The Ford Government will provide another $1.5-million for two existing programs in Niagara.

Loyalist Retirement Residence in St. Catharines will use $869,909 to continue offering it's 15-bed transitional care unit.

The remaining $664,532 will expand the transitional care unit at Emerald Retirement Home Residence in Niagara Falls, from 10 to 15 beds.
