The Rainforest Cafe employees in Niagara Falls have gone on strike.
The unionized workers have picket lines outside the popular tourist restaurant on Clifton Hill.
In a post on their Facebook page, the Workers United Canada Council (an SEIU affiliate) says they want a fair contract and this is a fight against greed. They're also pushing for fairness and respect for their restaurant workers.
They are encouraging members of the public to boycott the restaurant at this time.
The cafe's predominantly female workforce voted 85 percent in favour of a union back in March 2018. The union says this came after the employer allegedly starting "clawing back their employees’ tips" once minimum wage went up in January 2018.
