St. Catharines Testing All-Natural Weed Control

The City of St. Catharines is testing a new form of weed control.

The all-natural thermal weed treatment uses hot water mixed with foam which is sprayed directly onto the weeds.

No pesticides, herbicides or other chemicals are involved.

The city is also testing a new robotic lawn mower for cutting along steep slopes or other inaccessible areas.

The "spider mower" allows the operator to cut areas that could be dangerous to trim using a push mower or riding mower while staying a safe distance away.
