10 Arrested in Welland Drug Raid

Police had been investigating a house since April, making arrests there, and at another house

Multiple people have been arrested after another drug bust in Niagara, this time in Welland.

Since April, police have been watching the sale of illegal drugs at a house in the Hennipen Avenue and Southworth Street area.

On Tuesday, they searched that house, finding over $16,000 worth of fentanyl and a stun gun.

Police have charged:

Patsy NELSON (38 years old) of Toronto, was arrested and charged with the following offences:

• Possession Schedule I substance FTP trafficking – fentanyl
• Unauthorized Possession of a Prohibited Weapon

Jody THIBEAULT (46 years old) of Welland was arrested and charged with the following offences:

• Possession Schedule I substance FTP trafficking – fentanyl
• Unauthorized Possession of a Prohibited Weapon

• Fail to comply with Probation  

William OSTERMAIER (39 years old) of Niagara Falls, was arrested and charged with the following offences:

• Possession Schedule I substance FTP trafficking – fentanyl
• Unauthorized Possession of a Prohibited Weapon
• Fail to comply with Probation  

Shawn MARSH (33 years old) of Welland, was arrested and charged with the following offences:

• Possession Schedule I substance FTP trafficking – fentanyl
• Unauthorized Possession of a Prohibited Weapon
• Fail to comply with Release Order

Joshua HILL (42 years old) of Welland, was arrested and charged with the following offences:

• Possession Schedule I substance FTP trafficking – fentanyl
• Unauthorized Possession of a Prohibited Weapon

Patricia LATHAM (41 years old) of Welland, was arrested and charged with the following offences:

• Possession Schedule I substance FTP trafficking – fentanyl
• Unauthorized Possession of a Prohibited Weapon

Four had bail hearings today, Hill and Latham were released with future court dates.

On the same day, police also moved in on a house in the McAlpine Avenue and Lincoln Street area, finding fentanyl, crystal meth, cocaine, codiene pills and about $520.

Three men and a woman are charged, held in custody pending a bail hearing today.

Trevor LAFONTAINE (45 years old) of Welland was arrested and charged with the following offences:

Jasmine SCHAEFFER-BURGER (31 years old) of Welland, was arrested and charged with the following offences:

• Possession for the Purpose of Trafficking Sched I-Fentanyl
• Possession for the Purpose of Trafficking Sched I- Meth
• Possession for the Purpose of Trafficking Sched I- Cocaine 
• Possession for the Purpose of Trafficking Sched I- Codeine
• Possession of proceeds obtained by crime Under 5000
• Fail to Comply with Probation

Salvatore MANCUSO (49 years old) of Welland, was arrested and charged with the following offences:

• Careless Use Ammunition 
• Possession for the Purpose of Trafficking Sched I-Fentanyl
• Possession for the Purpose of Trafficking Sched I- Meth
• Possession for the Purpose of Trafficking Sched I- Cocaine 
• Possession for the Purpose of Trafficking Sched I- Codeine
• Possession of proceeds obtained by crime Under 5000
