Niagara Falls MPP Wayne Gates says families are struggling
Families in Niagara desparately looking for child care have had their concerns brought to the Ontario government.
Niagara Falls MPP Wayne Gates has written a letter to Premier Doug Ford and Education Minister Paul Calandra, asking for a commitment to $10/day child care.
The letter states the government no longer plans to have the program by next year, breaking its promise made in 2022.
Gates adds this means Ontario appears to be the only province backing away from this.
He says he hears from Niagara families all the time, who have to find more expensive options due to no spaces, while struggling with high interest rates, rent and grocery prices.
