A large uptick in new COVID-19 cases in Niagara.
Niagara Region Public Health is reporting 44 new COVID-19 infections today.
The death toll remains at 422.
Thirteen patients are fighting the virus within Niagara Health, with four COVID-19 patients in the ICU.
The region has 262 active cases and seven active outbreaks.
Over 672,000 vaccinations have been administered, with about 73.2 percent of local residents having one shot and 66.9 percent having both.
