A huge jump in new COVID-19 cases in Ontario
The province is reporting 711 new COVID-19 infections and five more deaths today.
More than 34,000 tests were completed.
397 of today's cases are in people who aren't fully immunized or whose vaccination status isn't known.
There are 278 patients fighting the virus in hospital, as well as 129 people in ICUs due to COVID-19.
Over 22.7 million vaccinations have been administered to day.
About 88.8 percent of eligible Ontarians have at least one dose, and 85.7 have two.
