Niagara Health reporting 58 patients with COVID-19.
Niagara Public Health is reporting 81 new COVID-19 cases today.
The area's death toll remains unchanged at 509.
There are 58 Niagara Health patients with the virus, 43 of which are being treated primarily for COVID-19.
Eleven of the patients are in the ICU, including seven that are unvaccinated.
There are 1,696 active cases, including 555 in St. Catharines, 304 in Niagara Falls, and 198 in Welland.
The region is also reporting 17 active outbreaks.
Over 1,008,000 vaccinations have been administered in Niagara.
About 87.2 percent of residents aged five and older have one dose and 83.4 percent are fully immunized.
