ONTARIO - Radios, phones, and televisions across the country will be going off today, once a test of the Alert Ready system gets underway.
It's Canada's public alerting system, and it warns you whenever there is an emergency situation in your immediate area. This includes tornado warnings, flash floods, wildfires, and Amber Alerts.
The test is scheduled for 12:55 p.m. in Ontario today.
The Alert Ready system is always tested twice a year, once in the spring and once in the fall. However, Quebec only undergoes one test in the fall each year.
