You'll have to plan a different route if you cross the Allenburg bridge, during the day, for the next few weeks.
The St. Lawrence Seaway Management Corporation says the bridge on Highway 20 will be closed each weekday, from 7am to 7pm, now until November 11th.
This is for maintenance of the bridge, which was built in 1930, and be closed to both traffic and pedestrians.
Traffic will be rerouted to the Thorold Tunnel, or Townline Tunnel towards Welland.
