Rate to increase 50 basis points
As expected, The Bank of Canada has increased its key overnight rate another half a percentage point to 1.5 per cent.
The move comes as the bank tries to control inflation which has soared to 6.8 per cent in two months.
The next scheduled date for announcing the overnight rate target is July 13.
