The NRP has confirmed that an arrest has been made in the investigation.

Around 11:50 this morning, St. Catharines uniform officers were called to a residence near Queenston Street and Lorne Street.
Members of the Emergency Task Unit, Crisis Negotiators and the K-9 unit are on the scene, and the house has been contained.
Police are asking the public to avoid the area.
