The Opposition Conservatives and Bloc Quebecois will not be supporting it, while the NDP is undecided.
OTTAWA - The Trudeau Government's latest federal budget includes $535 billion in spending and a deficit of $39.8 billion.
It also includes $2.6 billion to help create jobs and ease the cost of education.
Finance Minister Chrystia Freeland tabled the financial blueprint in the House of Commons yesterday afternoon.
"Our government first came to office with a vow to strengthen and expand the middle class. We delivered on that pledge by reducing poverty, especially for children and seniors, and creating millions of good jobs for Canadians. Our work isn’t done. Budget 2024 renews our focus on unlocking the door to the middle class for millions of younger Canadians. We’ll build more housing and help make life cost less. We will drive our economy toward growth that lifts everyone up. That is fairness for every generation."
Prime Minister Justin Trudeau also released the following statement on his X page.

The Opposition Conservatives will not be supporting the budget, with Leader Pierre Poilievre saying it marks the ninth deficit for the Trudeau government.
The Bloc Quebecois also won't be supporting the budget. NDP Leader Jagmeet Singh is still deciding his next steps because he doesn't think the Liberals went far enough to address what he believes is corporate greed that's driving up the cost of living.
