Rankin Construction crews will be hard at work in the coming months, installing the new safety barriers on the Burgoyne Bridge.
The Niagara Region has awarded the company a construction contract worth $2.6-million, to install the barriers before spring.
Acting CAO Ron Tripp says the design process took longer than expected because they had take the wind into account.
He says the regular approvals process with the Ministry of Transportation also took some time.
