The money will be used to address urgent needs in the area.
He also says the first group of Canadians that flew out of Tel Aviv earlier today has landed in Athens.
There were 130 Canadians onboard.
Yesterday, officials said flights could begin leaving as early as today
A second flight will depart tonight, and a third is scheduled for tomorrow afternoon.
About 700 Canadians in Israel have asked for help to leave the country.
