Mayor Walter Sendzik presents Niagara 2022 Canada Summer Games Chair Doug Hamilton with Key to the City.
The Chair of the Niagara 2022 Canada Summer Games has been given the Key to the City of St. Catharines.
Doug Hamilton was presented with the key yesterday by Mayor Walter Sendzik.
The presentation took place before the 13 for 13 Cultural Festival hosted by the City last night.
"The Key to the City of St. Catharines is bestowed upon those whose significant contributions have reflected positively on our community. Doug Hamilton has been a key catalyst for the Canada Summer Games, playing an integral role in every facet of this transformative event," said Mayor Sendzik. "We honour Doug’s contributions to the Niagara 2022 Canada Summer Games, and its legacy that will benefit our community for many generations."
In 1984, Hamilton won an Olympic bronze medal for rowing.
For the last five years, Hamilton has been a leading force behind the Canada Summer Games.
