New variant fears pushing new uncertainty into the economy
Finance Minister Chrystia Freeland says M-Ps need to move quickly to approve the government's latest pandemic benefit package amid Omicron variant fears.
Freeland is making a two-hour appearance before the Commons finance committee to answer questions about a 7.4-billion-dollar aid bill that's before Parliament.
The Liberals are proposing to extend pandemic aid to still-hurting businesses until early May and provide a 300-dollar per week benefit to workers affected by lockdowns.
