The average price of rent in Canada is $2,100
A new report shows a big jump in rental prices.
A report by Rentals.ca and Urbanation says the average asking price for a rental unit in Canada was over $2100 last month.
This is about 11 percent higher than a year ago.
The report shows the average price for a one bedroom unit in St. Catharines and Niagara Falls is around $1,700, and over $2,000 for a two bedroom unit.
It also finds Canada reached a nine-month high for the annual rate of rent inflation.
Vancouver was the most expensive market in the country, with prices around $3,000 for a one bedroom and $3900 for a two bedroom.
