Hamilton man arrested
An arrest has been made after a crossing guard was hit by a pickup truck last month.
On September 5th, the victim was hit by a Ford F150 on Carlton Street near Haig Street.
Police say the Ford swerved to avoid a crash with a GMC Sierra pickup truck that made an abrupt left turn northbound onto Haig Street.
On October 1st, officers charged the GMC driver, a 22 year old from Hamilton, with the following offences:
Careless Driving Causing Bodily Harm S. 130(3)
Fail to Remain S. 200(1)(a)
The crossing guard, a 79 year-old woman, sustained serious injuries and spent several days in hospital.
She is now recovering at home.
