Starting tomorrow, residents can suggest names for the City's street sweepers

The City of Niagara Falls is looking for names for both of its street sweepers.

In honour of National Public Works Week, the City is hosting a Touch-A-Truck event tomorrow from 10:00 a.m. until 2:00 p.m. at the Gale Centre.

The event will give residents a chance to check out vehicles like a police cruiser, a fire truck and a street sweeper.

Name suggestions can be made at the event or here until Friday, June 9th.

City staff will select a shortlist, and residents can vote for their favourites starting June 19th.

The two names with the most voted by Friday, June 30th will be the winners.

"Our crews and equipment, including our street sweepers, are out in the community daily, doing maintenance and general upkeep. We’re hoping that the Name the Street Sweeper Challenge will be a fun and interactive way for the community to engage with our Municipal Works team" - Erik Nickel, General Manager of Municipal Works, City of Niagara Falls.
