Applications open on March 1st
The City of St. Catharines will soon accept applications for food trucks and mobile vending cart operators.
The policy was developed last year in response to requests from residents and businesses.
"Allowing food trucks and mobile vendors to do business on City property enhances the experience of residents and visitors at our parks and facilities," said Kaylea Cassano, community strategy and policy coordinator. "It’s an excellent opportunity for businesses to connect with new customers and for residents to explore new tastes and activities throughout the city."
Starting March 1st, vendors can submit an application, and will be able to request a specific location.
Successful applicants will need to get their Hawkers and Peddlers License, a food truck and mobile vending cart park permit, and they will need to pay an environmental fee.
Applications will be accepted until May 31st.
The operating season is expected to run from June 1st until September 30th.
